KÄRNAPULTEN

  • Flight Attraction | since 2017 | A flight carousel with a height of 22 meters, which can be controlled interactively. Two wings allow to swing the seat until it completely rolls over
    KÄRNAPULTEN

The latest attraction of the KÄRNAN Museum is a detailed replica of a catapult based on original plans by the KÄRNAN builder. The catapult will be loaded with large stones or fire bullets. Unusual are the attached seats opposite the sling bowl, which still give the archaeologists puzzles. For the audience, on the other hand, it is already great fun to sit in one of the seats and hover over the walls of KÄRNAN.

    KÄRNAPULTEN

KÄRNAPULTEN achieves a maximum flight altitude of 22 meters and a rotation speed of 6.5 revolutions per minute on its flights. With the two wings on each seat, the passengers can catch the wind by the correct attitude, which leads to a rotation of the seats. By rocking the gondola and the correct wing position finally succeed in good wind, the seats roll over around the heart line. If you like it intensively, you keep the wing position for even more momentum and increase the speed of the rollover. This allows about 70 rollovers during a single ride.

The ride, type Sky Fly, of the Münsterhausen design engineers of the Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH is a worldwide bestseller. The 12 gondolas hang in a fork which is connected to the 30-meter long rotary arm. On the opposite side is a counterweight. The arm is connected to the engine rim in about 13 meters height. At the start of the ride, the angle of the engine wreath is flattened by a few degrees, causing the fork to rise with the gondolas. Then the gondolas are released from their anchorage and the rotation begins. Three motors provide for the powerful drive, the rest is pure physics.
