Situated in the HANSA-PARK in 1990, the Russian Swing was already the second ferris wheel in the park, and with its 10 gondolas offered a beautiful view over the Old-Time Fun Fair. In 2014, the ferris wheel was taken out of service and removed two years later.

The history of the Russian Swing was described in a showcase next to the ride detailed and illustrated.

    Zitat von HANSA-PARK

In 1880 the first swings came from Russia to Germany.

This ride was owned for 3 generations by the Berger family and stood from 1923 to 1981 every year at the Bremen Freimarkt. The "Russian swing" was built in the pre-war years at major events in Gdansk, Chemnitz, Wroclaw, Leipzig, Hanover, Hamburg and Oldenburg. In 1928, a complete renovation was carried out by the famous Bremen painter Westhoff. Also during World War II the rides were conditionally in operation. A bombing of the city of Cuxhaven, in which the popular "stain market" was not spared, has survived unscathed, although neighboring shops were destroyed.

When the city of Bremen lay in ruins in 1945, the Bremen Bürgerweide shone to the Freimarkt in unforgettable splendor. One of the main attractions was Berger's Russian swing.

After a two-year shutdown, the Bremen showman family Werner Robrahn acquired this traditional gem from the 1920s. Since June 1, 1990, the colorful showpiece on the "Old Fair" in HANSA-PARK has found a place of honor. And there it turns with the same precision, its passengers feel the same prickle in the stomach area when the gondolas traverse the valley in almost free fall as it was 70 years ago. A piece of old folk festival tradition lives on and survives - in HANSA-PARK on the "Old Fair".

After the ferris wheel stopped more often, and since the summer of 2014 did not go into operation, it was completely dismantled for the 2016 season, and sold to a museum for historic fairground rides. Now the Little Tsar dominates the square in front of the "Flower Magic" Boat Tour.

Moreover, the Russian Swing was not the first ferris wheel in HANSA-PARK. At the time of HANSALAND a Tivolirad of the German manufacturer Zierer was at the place of the Flying Dutchman.
