The themed area Old-Time Fun Fair was made famous by the Steam Carousel of the artist Peter Petz, which was set up in HANSALAND in 1985, almost a hundred years after the advent of steam-powered rides in Europe and America. It was also the first steam carousel for Peter Petz.

Feature was the steam engine, which was in the middle of the carousel around which the passengers turned. However, the machine does not provide for the rotational movement, but just looked good. The carousel was powered by a 3.6 kW electric motor. For the music provided organ sounds, which came from an organ decoration in the central part. A large tent-like roof protected the carousel from the north German weather conditions.

The artist Peter Petz worked as a freelance painter and sculptor when he received an order for the façade design of a showman business. The work moved him to create complete rides with nostalgic style in his studio. Each carousel is a unique piece. In addition to steam carousels, Mr. Petz created, among other things, swing rides, pirate boats and giant wheels.

After nearly 20 years of activity, the Steam Carousel had to leave HANSA-PARK. In its place is now the carousel Dr. Livingstone's Safari-Flight. However, it can still be admired in the amusement park Tolk Schau near Schleswig. This has taken the ride.
