The Bremen manufacturer HUSS is known for unusual carousels. The ride Fly Willy can not be denied parallels to a well-known Orca film series, however. In this case, probably the final scene of the well-known film "Free Willy" was crucial for the look and movements of the whale-like gondolas.
These are lifted by jibs in the air, while the ride turns around its own axis. The speed of the rotation is adjusted so that the ride is also a fun ride for children and seniors.
Until the end of 2011, the ride was named after the product name of the manufacturer Fly Willy in the pirate country of the amusement park. With 2012, the name change to "Flying Orcas".
The carousel is surrounded by water next to a wooden pier. An island in the middle of the small lake serves as a base for the 9 ton piece. The whales circle a small lighthouse in which the motor has been embedded, needed for the rotation.
